The technology behind PaxFleet

PaxTel’s PaxFleet System is a low-cost telemetry solution that gives fleet owners and managers access to and control of the information they need to improve the efficiency of their fleets.

Thanks to PaxFleet’s open architecture, that information can be utilized by a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including owners, managers, repair and maintenance facilities – both in-house and outsourced – and designated third parties. It can be easily integrated into any back-office system or accessed via the Web.

The PaxFleet system utilizes the GSM/GPRS Wireless network, which is the same system used by T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T. Currently, our network is offered in 100 metropolitan areas, covering 200 million people across the U.S. — that’s more than any other wireless company. Every day they are building new towers in cities from coast to coast, so more and more people will be able to use the power of our network.

Learn more about our network technologies:

4G

Short for "fourth generation," 4G is about performance and provides our fastest data speeds, up to three times faster than Verizon's standard 3G networks, while allowing simultaneous voice and data capabilities for the ultimate wireless voice and data experience. (For example, you can make a call at the same time you’re surfing the Web.) T-Mobile offers America's largest 4G network, using HSPA+ technology to offer theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps and peak upload speeds of up to 5.7 Mbps. This allows many users to experience a mobile broadband experience comparable to the high-speed connections of a home or work computer.

3G

As our 4G network continues to expand, our nationwide 3G network offers advanced high-speed coverage. This means you get simultaneous voice and data capabilities for an amazing wireless experience—while on the go.

EDGE

Further enhancements in data capability over the GSM network are provided with EDGE service (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution). With typical speeds of approximately 70 to 135 kbps, advanced mobile services are possible.

GPRS

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is the first level of data service on GSM. This packet-based service utilizes the GSM Radio Access Network, combined with a core network dedicated to data. GPRS allows nationwide e-mail service and basic WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) Internet browsing.

GSM

GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is the world's most popular wireless phone technology. We offer a nationwide GSM/GPRS footprint across 100 percent of our service area. GSM offers global roaming capabilities, as well as excellent voice quality. It’s easy-to-use data capabilities deliver mobile service that’s comparable to your experience when you’re working on your home or office computer.
